I am making a sweater called Thermal (designer Laura Chau) and a pair of Geisha Socks (designer Kate Atherley). For the Thermal sweater I am using Rowan 4ply Cotton and for the socks I am not sure what company makes the yarn, I got if from my sister(we did a yarn swap). I like the sock yarn, it is really colorful and really soft. I think my friend will like the socks. As for the lonely sock, I took a picture of that too. One day I will make that sock a pair. My cat has been hanging with me while I knit.

I am terrible at blogging!!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_JubYADRp7yA/RwK1lF79yAI/AAAAAAAAAAk/Q1hisvSpNvM/s200/knitting+photos+077.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5116851775499782146" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_JubYADRp7yA/RwK1b179x_I/AAAAAAAAAAc/3aM1Fy4yi0E/s200/knitting+photos+074.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5116851616585992178" />
I haven't blogged in a while. I am trying to get a knitting group started at my church. I think it would be a good thing to get people together knitting. I will put some pictures of my projects and I hope to stay faithful to blogging :) I will try to get a picture of my one sock and the current sweater I am working on.

The Cloud Bolero/Cardigan

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_JubYADRp7yA/RroX-fxxPkI/AAAAAAAAAAU/912WOEqd5mY/s320/knitting+photos+065.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5096412290772713026" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_JubYADRp7yA/RroXl_xxPjI/AAAAAAAAAAM/zA4544rWThc/s320/knitting+photos+068.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5096411869865918002" />
I had tried to make a make top called Askew with my Noro Silk Garden, but it didn't come out quite like I have planned. So I took the project apart and had the yarn sitting there for a while. One day I was looking on Knitting Pattern Central and I saw it--the Cloud Bolero! It looked beautiful!! I had to make it with my Noro Silk Garden yarn. The pattern called for a bulky weight yarn, but Silk Garden is a worsted weight. The pattern did say to experiment with different yarns and that I could use an aran(worsted) weight yarn if I wanted too. This made me even more excited. So I took out my size US 11 knitting needles and went to work and out came this very beautiful bolero, actually it is more like a cardigan. I make it a little longer than the pattern called for, I was just being adventurous :) I had to sing at my church last Thursday, so I figured I should wear my beautiful cardigan. I didn't care if anyone noticed it, I loved how it looked on me. I got more comments than I expected from people saying how beautiful it looked. So what do you think?

Love Covers All Offenses

Proverbs 10:12 Hatred stirs up quarrels, but love covers all offenses.~ Sometimes when someone offends us we want to hurt them back instead of showing love. In 1 Corinthians 13:4 it says "Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude." So when someone offends us or the people we are close to (family and friends) what are we to do? If we stay hating them it will only cause fights and quarrels, but love will cover all those offenses. Is that not what God has done for us? His love covered all of our offenses (sin) to Him. Through His death and resurrection we have been made right with Christ and all our offenses have been forgiven. Why should we not forgive the people that offend us when God has done so much for us?

Fences

That is the new segment that is being taught at my church. Most people don't like fences, we don't like to be fenced it or oppressed. I felt that way sometimes when it comes to serving God. I felt like His ways are so tough and hard to follow. I will never get it right. Then I realized I was trying to do everything in my own strength and not relying on His strength to help me. I had to pull up the fence I had put to keep God out of certain areas of my life and let Him back in and allow Him to change me. That is when I found true freedom and the ability to serve God. I wasn't doing it alone I had Someone to help me do it. ~When you pass though the waters, I will be there with you, and through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned or scorched, nor will the flame kindle upon you. I can spend up to a month knitting a sweater(most of the time it takes me anywhere between two to three weeks to finish a sweater). It takes a lot of patience and time to make this sweater. If I make a mistake while making it I have to go back and correct that mistake or sometimes take it all apart and start from the beginning (I hate when that happens!!). Sometimes I stick to the pattern of the sweater and sometimes I just do my own thing. No matter what knitting project you do there is a process involved in it.
So what does knitting teach me about God? God takes his time in changing us. Sometimes we change quickly and sometimes it takes a while for God to change us. If we mess up God has to back us up and fix it or take us all apart and start all over again. Sometimes God has a set plan for our lives and sometimes He takes us on a path we didn't expect to go. No matter what happens God always works out everything for good (that is not always so with the sweaters I make!) ~And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.
